1. Free Will-Writing Service

It can be daunting to think about, but making a Will is one of the most important things you can do to ensure you pass on any assets you may have. It gives you the peace of mind that your money, property and possessions are distributed to the people and causes you care most about.

Why should I make a Will?

Every adult should have a Will. Without one the law decides who inherits your money, property and possessions; a court will appoint administrators to distribute your ‘estate’. But with a Will in place, you decide and your personal wishes are adhered to.

McClure Solicitors will prepare your Will free of charge – a service which usually costs £150 for a single client and £240 for a couple.

2. Free Will Review

Why should I get my existing Will checked?

Even if you already have a Will, it might still be worth getting it checked to make sure it’s up-to-date, especially if your circumstances have recently changed (e.g. if there’s been a marriage or divorce in the family). Research shows that 1 in 4 Wills are defective or of poor quality.

McClure Solicitors can ensure there are no errors in the Will you already have. They call this a ‘safety check’ and it’s entirely free of charge.

3. Special Price Power of Attorney

What does Power of Attorney mean?

Power of Attorney is a legal document which appoints someone you trust to act on your behalf if you become unable to make decisions or manage your affairs, whether that’s your finances, property, health or welfare.

Why is Power of Attorney important?

Setting up Power of Attorney gives you the ability to choose who makes decisions for you (rather than a court). You should consider setting up a power of attorney if:

  • You’re concerned that there might come a time when you no longer have the mental capacity to make your own decisions
  • You need someone to act for you temporarily, e.g. during a long hospital stay.
  • You’re finding it harder to get out and about to the post office or bank and would find it easier if someone else could access your accounts for you.
