Befriending Service

Approved Provider Status logoThe Befriending Service helps improve the well-being and quality of life of people isolated by epilepsy by encouraging social involvement. It does this by matching people with like-minded volunteers who can help them take part in a range of social activities:

  • sport/physical exercise
  • cultural activities
  • eating out
  • informal learning opportunities
  • shopping.

Listen to one of befrienders volunteers talk about his personal experience of the service. He gives an insight into the relationship between a befriender and their befriendee - the activities they undertake, the process of becoming a befriender with Epilepsy Connections and the benefits to both parties
